Re: Yn-603 o-ring solution.
You can buy o-rings in various sizes and materials on McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com).
Buna-N is the least expensive material (P/N 9262K634). $5 for 100 pieces, plus shipping.
Silicone will...

Re: canon 35mm L II?
Before I bought my 35L I looked back through all the rebates Canon had offered over the last few years. 35L had never gone on rebate once, so I went ahead and bought it. Now it's on rebate...who...

Re: Why are extenders so expensive?
Speaking as an engineer, I would assume they cost so much because they need to work spectacularly with a variety of very different lenses. If each lens had its own extender, design and manufacturing...

Re: 24-70/105 L or buy 2 lenses at that price
I think a high quality walk around zoom is a priority. I think the 24-70/105 aren't a good range on crop cameras, but many disagree. I loved the 17-55 on my XSi. The 15-85 is also tempting if you can...

Re: 50 mm shooting at 1.8 in daylight
I'm frequently at f/1.4, ISO 50, and in the range of 1/4000-1/8000 in daylight.
If you're limited to 1/4000 and ISO 100, working at or wider than f/2 may be pushing it.

Re: Green hair with Gelled flash
I think this is probably the key. And probably you only see it on that part of his hair because that's simply where ambient light was strongest. Next time you're in this situation take a frame with...

Re: F-stop Loka looks like a winner
Given the abuse I have put my Camelbak bladder through I have 100% confidence in it. When you see one of them in person you'll know what I mean. They're really thick. For it to be at any risk of...

I've never tried strobo-flash, but I have some educated guesses. Basically, it looks like there is not enough separation between the ambient exposure and the flash exposure. What you want is more...

Re: Crop to FF - DOF Question
Yes, for the same perspective and framing. Taken from the same place, the following should look pretty close:
30mm f/1.4 on crop
50mm f/2.2 on FF
Perhaps true (I'm not sure), but useless in any...

Re: You sold your 24-105L for what?
Wouldn't sell it. Love mine.
For me if f/4 isn't doing it f/2.8 won't either. 24-70 costs more, weighs more, and lacks IS.
Planning on the 35L to complement the 24-105.

Send an email to their support asking them to add to your order. You'll probably get a guy named Druid, who was incredibly helpful to me in many respects when I ordered mine.

Re: What would you take to the everglades?
I took an XSi with 17-55, 10-22, and nifty fifty. I didn't use the 50 at all. One of my favorite shots was at 55mm (below). That was on the Anhinga trail where there is a ton of wildlife and it is...

Re: Choosing the right lens for me
I agree about the 17-55. Loved it while I had it and hardly used my other lenses. I also agree about buying only one lens at a time--particularly if that lens is the 17-55.
