Re: Stephanie
Absolutely love the light, colour and pattern in the spotty dress / spotty wallpaper shots. Just would have liked to see a couple of "straight" poses with the same model/setup. Pretty girl, lovely...

Re: a lady here at work
The light is nice alright but to get a better photo you need the backdrop out of focus... or maybe you could have opened the windows to get rid of the distracting window frames.
This is the kind...

Re: wifes sister
Awesome. If it was a little sharper you'd be winning prizes everywhere with that shot!

Re: Some More Sr Pictures, and some others
I like #2 - with a less "snapshotty" background (ie not the trees) it would be perfect for me anyway. They're all pretty good, and the first shot of your girlfriend is pretty electric, and with some...

ANOTHER COUPLE OF IDEAS
Didn't quite get the flash behind right, but you get the idea!
I was really hoping for a sort of "2001 sunrise from space bump" kind of thing! :-)

Re: My First Model Shoot
Two is definitely best.
3 and 4 have a problem with shadow under the eyes.
Keep it up though, and have fun!

Re: The lovely Kayleigh
Very nice, I like the lighting too.
I would like to know... are you using your Sigma flash, or studio flash with grid spot? Looks like some kind of snoot or grid spot to me, would like to know!

Re: Error99 and Legal action
I'd just say...
It's normal to expect glitches from hardware, and it's not normal to expect the kind of service you're talking about from mass market manufacturers.
Plus if you can afford a...

Re: Actress shots - first serious shoot for me
Hmm, focus magic has done all kinds of damage though, is how it looks to me.
The bluish one is deliberate use of Tungsten WB with flash (ie daylight) - is that the one you think I need to change WB...

Re: Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC
I have 3 very good f2.8 lenses (Sigma 18-50, Tamron 28-75 which is just amazing for sharpness, and Canon 80-200L which was a used bargain).
The Sigma 18-50 is great but I think it doesn't always...

Re: One teen, two shots
I think the first two are both great. The colour one works well and comes across as very natural, and I like the balance of light and vertical verticals! I always get my verticals at an angle! The...

Actress shots - first serious shoot for me
This is the first serious (though unpaid which is fine) portfolio-type shoot I've done.
These two are taken with natural light and reflector. Focus not absolutely perfect in first shot but I still...

Looks great, might crop a bit differently but idea/exposure/lighting/model/postprocessing are all bang on, very impressive!

Thanks, I was going to ask "which way was the flash pointing"! Nice shots, very nicely exposed too.

Re: Unwilling participant
I think "Don't worry, I can still see her" is a great shot in its own right.
Interesting backdrop, though perhaps the slab over their heads is a bit threatening?

Prefer your original. and like the shot a lot.
Don't give yourself such a hard time. The 3 in the background works really well too. Sure if you're trying to score technical points you could have...

That's a lovely shot!
Costco are setting themselves up for trouble by getting involved in decisions about what might or might not be studio/copyright etc if you ask me

Re: My Girls - Studio - HDR
FWIW I think if you're trying to achieve a painted/cartoon look, that's just what I thought when I saw these. HDR is something typically used for landscapes, and I guess you have to take your shots...
