Future Country Music Star

I shot a local country singer who is aiming for big things. The images we shot are to be used for her first ever promo material, etc. At 14, she's already great and has a long time to hone her...

Just some candids of people in B'Ham, AL

Usually, I'm a portrait guy, but I had to be in Birmingham, AL with my mother at the doc. While she was in I went out and shot. I've never really done this before, but I was quite happy with the...

Got out and shot after a nearly eight month hiatus...

This was a model/photographer "workshop" of sorts. I really didn't care for the location, but I tried to make the best of it. It was actually a campground, and there was stuff in virtually every...

I don't have personal experience with it, however I do know someone that completed it. This person recently commented on a shot of mine of my niece in front of the Christmas tree. They wanted to know...

Re: Speedlite honeycomb

I can't follow that link (I'm at work), but got some material from honeygrid.com and just cut it to size. It was only about $14 or so and I got all different degrees. I just attach with gaffe tape.

Re: Other photographers "bashing" eachothers gear!

To quote myself from a similar conversation earlier this week "Show me results, not methods. I don't care if you shoot with a pinhole camera carved out of a potato"

I wouldn't typically pay it any...

Tired of carrying a stand and a sandbag by hand...cart suggestions?

I had a shoot today for which I used an Alien Bee and a 50" softbox. Of course, I sandbagged it too. And I had my camera bag. And there were a lot of hills. I'm pretty sure I lost a few lbs today...

Re: Out of focus lights look dirty...dust inside lens?

Check out the link that RTPVid posted (which, BTW, thanks for that link!!)! I wouldn't have thought so either, but the dust speck I saw inside my lens was long and narrow and matched what I was...

Re: Out of focus lights look dirty...dust inside lens?

I looked before I posted this and didn't see it, but there was indeed a kind of long shaped piece of dust in my 50mm 1.8. Since it's...ya know...a 50mm 1.8 (relatively cheap) I took a can of...

Out of focus lights look dirty...dust inside lens?

Any clues? It's like that with both my 50mm 1.8 and my 85 1.8, but it's a different pattern. The 85 isn't so bad.

If it IS dust, can...

Replacing foam in Pelican Case

Is there a more cost effective way of replacing the foam than through Pelican? I bought a Pelican 1550 from a guy for $6, but it's used of course, and the foam is pretty much useless for what I want...

Re: Upcoming shoot and a 28 in softbox

Re: White background - blowing out question...

Blowing it out is the general idea if you want a 100% pure white background. You can't, as best I understand it, retain detail because it will be gray. It may be an extremely light gray, but gray all...

Re: Long Beach Police Chief Confirms Detaining Photographers Within Departmental Poli

The problem is "they" keep expanding the definition of "probable cause", and no one seems to notice or care as long as they back it up with words like "terrorism" or "homeland security". Those words...

Re: Local McD's used my pictures...
