pretty hard to prove positive it was you, but in the senario the OP posted, the owner of the camera would be in the picture so would have been pretty unlikely to have pressed the shutter... ;)

seriously, the longer you leave it, the more expensive the fix is going to be - best put it in for an estimate or just put it on e-bay as "good for parts...

IR cameras (well, at least DSLR types) are all about recording light, not heat so I suspect you're on the wrong track really - just the same, I'll fire off a shot of our gas stove when I get home...

the opening on the EW-83F is about 82mm and given that is exactly the size of the filter thread on the 24-70 II, I'm picking it'll be about 4mm too small to fit...

me too, I have only once turned up at a venue with the 1D2 by mistake, only to shoot a single frame and announce "oh cr@p!"


(the 1d2 is IR converted whereas the 1d3 isn't... ;) )

if you can get past the user interface (needs two fingers to operate everything), can get past the "average" battery life, and can get past the "small" LCD, then you'll love the output & focus...

I regularly use Sandisk 4GB Extreme III CF cards in my 1D3, don't see any pressing need to rush out & buy anything faster (or larger, for that matter...)
