Default Camcorder's zoom controlled by remote

Hello,

This is my first post in the video section so don't shoot a newcomer lol

I'm a storm chaser and I will be building a dome housing for a camcorder. The camera will be on the roof of my suv and connected to my computer by the AV cables "red/white/yellow".

The only problem is I need to have the function of zoom. What cameras offer full HD and the option to have their zoom function controlled by remote. I prefer it to be a wired remote but I can figure out a wireless "ir" way too.

Let me know and get back to me ASAP. I need to know what camera to order and its size so I can order the right size dome.

Thanks again

Ooooh, that's going to be a tough one. None of the "consumer" priced cameras have remote zoom. Some of the lower-end Panasonic and JVC semi-pro cameras do, like this: http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp...Model=AG-HMC40 but those ain't cheap.

You might be able to find something LANC-compatible, but i don't recall if that's remote trigger only or if it supports zoom as well.

Look for a camera that supports LANC remote control.

What cameras have LANC remote control? What are the cheapest ones? I looked on BH and they don't list any =/
