hello everyone!
i guess this is just my little introductory/ask for suggestions post. -lol- i'm a new kid on the block. stumbled upon this forum in a google search and i am kind of glad that i did! looks like this will be very helpful for me. i am 24 years old and completely green to the DSLR scene. just bought my first camera last week (canon eos rebel t3i) along w/ the For Dummies book for my model to get me started. haha photography is a long time dream of mine but i have never had the funds or camera to get started (before this camera i just had a little crappy kodak easy share point and shoot, which is very frustrating to shoot w/ when you see a pro grade picture in your head and that camera just doesn't capture it at all). i have tried to go to school several times and it has just never worked out for me, either because of a job or money. i am determined not to let all of those rejections get me down on not living out my dream, so i just up and bought the camera myself and am doing the best to self teach myself. i have reached out to a local photography club & now here. but after reading all of these different threads and seeing the crazy talent that lurks around these boards i have to admit that now i am a little intimidated. i am not afraid of a little critisism because that is the only way (especially in my position) that i am going to get better, but i am sort of embarrassed at my lack of knowledge, and the lack of quality that my pictures will have, being that this is my first DSLR camera i know next to nothing about them. i am totally jumping in this w/ all of my feet and hands and am very excited and anxious to get shooting. i guess i'm just making myself kind of nervous w/ my lack of knowledge. i still plan to, at some point in the future, take some college classes and at LEAST get a certificate, if not an associates. but i am getting married this year and my job that i got late last year is picking up and i don't want to over commit myself w/ wedding plans and everything. any starter pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! sorry to babble about stuff that half of you probably don't even care about, but i just thought that i should put myself out there so i can start soaking up all of you smart peoples knowledge. |

Hi. Very nice to meet you and thank you for the in depth biography. I'm sure you'll enjoy this place, watch out for Sam though.
