Default Can't install LR 4 from disk

I have LR 4.1 RC on my computer and it should be expired but appears to still be working. The registration command in the help tab is grayed out, which seems a little strange. I recently bought an academic copy and tried to install it. I get an error during the file copy process that says, "lightroom.exe is not marked for installation." Then the install program terminates. Any ideas on what to do? Maybe install it in a different folder? I hate to remove 4.1 RC since I spent a lot of time keywording, etc.

4.1 RC is good until June but you can't register it because it is an RC. You can either wait for 4.1 final release and then register it or uninstall the current installation, install 4.0 from the disc and update to 4.1 RC again. Uninstalling should not delete your catalog file (.lrcat), but to be sure make a copy of it and put it someplace safe, like your Desktop. You should be backing up your catalog regularly anyways, if you are doing so you have that protection. Once you get back to 4.1 RC you can import the catalog or the copy.

Thanks so much, tzalman. I was thinking I needed to back the catalog up somehow. Just copied lrcat to another drive and backed it up.
