Default printed images (wrong forum?)

not really sure where this goes but since images can be part of a presentation well...

so ive discussed my hockey pics in the sports section and received some CC (and some that seemed down right snarky lol)...

well ive started a crash course on correction and one of the billet moms (the junior hockey team players are housed with local families) asked me for some prints, of some of the shots of her players....

i just took a flash drive to Meijer (department/super store ala Wal-mart) and had some 8x10s made WOW! maybe not MOMA quality images but remarkably better than the images i had on my laptop...

my only concern is what if some equally muddy looking laptop images turn out muddy? how can i tell how the final prints will look? any idea?

you may need to explain yourself better....
but if you have a bad image..it will print bad too
not sure if that is what you're asking though.

Rereading it.....I would say do a small 4x6 print and look at those to see?

on my computer, the images i made into prints, looked a bit poor. when i got them printed they turned out really really nice...

im wondering if there is anyway to 'proof' view more images before i print more files?

Maybe you need to calibrate your screen/monitor. Also, most quick-print-in-mega-store images are auto-corrected for color, etc. What processing software are you using? maybe post the image and a photo of the print so we can see what your speaking of?
