Gallery Site - database driven

Hi,

If any of you have time, please view my online gallery.

I designed the site myself. It incorporates the following web programming techniques:- php, mysql, css, html & javascript. It is mostly database driven, which cuts down on the site management.

I would like to add a few other features, but this stuff takes time ......

All constructive criticism is welcome, especially on the stylesheet switcher.

You might want to put some Meta Information, do a web search if u are unsure.

You need to name each frame.
Site looks good tho, nice simple design works well

Big Will - I check out the feedback link. It works for me. Perhaps you are looking at an old cached version of the site. Try reloading the page.

I do actually use meta tags to define things such as keywords, content, etc, etc. Have a look at the HTML source and you will see. In your opinion, do I need to add anything else? It is quite easy for me to make any changes to the meta tags, as they are stored in a separate file, which is then included.
Otherwise I am glad you like the site.

Yes, I designed it with simplicity in mind.

Actually, I would appreciate some feeback regarding the E-Cards app. It is a feature rich E-Card program. The only one that I am currently aware of, that allows one to send a slideshow.

Pretty cool. I made on for myself using a slideshow. Neat idea!

jbkalla - Thanks! Yes, the slideshow is a nice feature.

On another note, I dynamically generate all the text, greetings, copyright notice, with gdlib. Perhaps in a future release I will try to generate a drop shadow for the pictures in the galleries.

I don't like the way you say "Internet explorer 5 and above" - what about the 10% plus who use other browsers?

Leo - Point Taken! The site does work with a couple of other browsers (Firefox for instance). However, to provide support for every browser on every platform, is a major task.
What browser do you use?

I found time to investigate how to dynamically create a drop shadow in php. I
might include this feature in my next release. Using this method, I do not have to edit my images.

I use firefox, and ocasionally opera. - If your site is standards compliant (w3) then you could simply put "best rendered in standards compliant browsers" or something...

Anyway, just my 0.02

lakiluno - I also use Firefox (nice browser by the way). If you look at the site in IE and then in Firefox, you will notice differences in the way both browsers interpret the html code.

Looks nice, seems fast. But one major drawback. Photos open in a new window. I don't like that.
