Default Wu's lament upon her "love's "farewell

Forgive me this indulgence. I felt there might be one among you who could possibly appreciate what I feel as I take my 30D to the UPS store for exchange at B & H (most wonderful, helpful people there. I have never been treated so well.)

adapted from traditional folksong

"[S]he's gone away, for to stay a little while.
But [s]he's coming back, if [s]he goes one thousand miles.
Oh who'll delight my eye?
And who will fill my hand?
And who'll bring smiles to ruby lips while [s]he is gone?
Oh [s]he's gone; look away...over yandro.
...
I'll go build me a desrick on Yandro's high hill,
Where the wild beasts won't bother me nor hear my sad cry
For [s]he's gone, [s]he's gone away for to stay a little while,
But [s]he's comin' back if [s]he goes one thousand miles."

Sadly, this is a shortened work week for them so she won't be returning as soon as I'd hope.

Hooray someone not only understands, but know's the obscure lyric of the day!

Yep-- that's about the same age I did that solo! One of my favorites (I did choir both in school and church [no, I wasn't always a "heathen" ]for a VERY long time. can't sing a note now. lol here's the sad thing, I remember the lyrics to nearly every old piece esp. the baroque ones but don't recall what I did on friday!) lol

thanks Sari, for your support

I know exactly how you feel.. I had private voice lessons for about eight years and was allowed to give them up when I joined church/school choir.. I loved the music hated performing... strangely enough I remember the French, Italian and German pieces more than the English ones....

true, dave. but my gadget is one of my "best friends" lol. Mainly just my camera and the cats to socialize with in this little and very conservative berg.
Although I am "unnaturally attached" to this one piece of gear, I still fall on the photographer side of the continuum. I imagine I'll be baking lots of bread for my creative outlet while I am camera free. Even went to my buddy's and made him put the guts back in the rebel for me to at least have soemthing I might get a shot with. County fair time is over this week and I am WAY behind on my research. Looking like there will be no tenure for this gal.

Good luck, Wu. May your camera have a safe trip there, and your replacement a swift and safe return.

Wu-wu....you killed your first camera...you seriously wounded your truck...you've burned out most of the lights in your house...stopped up the sink and now your newest toy is in need of a whole body transplant. I wouldn't dare bake bread for fear of burning down the entire neighborhood. I think the folks around you are planning an intervention...something about fung shui...smile, smile, smile....things are on the upswing and the new, new camera will be here before you know it.

Well,Woo-ly--you know all my secrets, I guess. ha Considering everything I own (but my new camera) was already well used and falling apart before I got it. . . . I'm not too surprised that things are following their natural pattern.
As for lightbulbs, I bet everyone here has lightbulbs go out but few of them have 12 foot ceilings and no ladder! lol (borrowing one tonight.)

THe intervention that should be planned entails getting me out of I'm-poor-ia, KS! My elders tell me my ill health and horrid luck reflect the abundance of death in the town (meat packing). Trust me, all-in-all, considering, things could be much worse and certainly must get better. At least the new camera will be here soon and i can forget all the rest.

No worries! I handled someone else's NIfty yesterday and their tammy a while back and there were no mishaps. In fact, I'd venture that they liked it very much. lol
I intend to take all my Nifty photos outside this town, just to be safe!
