Default Help me choose (what lens to get)

I am looking at getting a new lens. I only have my kit lens that came with my Rebel XT. Here are the 2 I am looking at.

and

The extra money is not a big deal. Can someone please help me with the pros and cons of each.

Thanks

Get the 70-300. Most of the superzooms like the 28-300 you listed have serious pincushion and barrel distortion at the long and short ends. The Sigma 70-300 is regarded as the best of the cheap 70/75-300 lenses.

Concur with Rik, the Sigma 70-300 APO macro is the best of this class of telephoto zoom lens. It's the one with the red strip on the front of the lens, so it must be good....
It's a great focal length and will give you a lot of fun, and allow you to explore a lot of the fun bits of DSLR.
