I have several thousand TIFFs which I need to save out to 6 different sizes; the different sized images all need to have the same name, but get saved to 6 different folders. I'm wondering if I can use a single Batch/Action to do this.
To simplify, let's say I have 3 TIFFs: Img 1.tif Img 2.tif Img 3.tif Now, let's say I want to save each TIFF to three different sizes, and each size needs to have the same name, but be saved into a different directory: \Large
Thanks!

I am not sure about the different directory part. I will try it. But anyway you can of course run it three times. And that will certainly work.

I don't know how to do this with one action. I would suggest another way to do it is to write 6 actions, one for each size, and point it at a different output folder each time you run the action/batch.

Is there a way to have the action save to specific (and different) folders, but NOT use the filename recorded in the action? I thought that you either uncheck Override and it saves to the recorded filename/location or you turn on 'override' and it uses the filename and saves to the (single) specified location.

Yeah, that's as far as I've gotten now...but I had to ask...I would love to start it overnight and have everything done in the morning [or by the next evening

1. Create a new action 2. Size the image to the first size, let's say large. 3. Apply whatever sharpening is necessary. 4. Save for Web (or just plain Save As if you prefer) and point to the Large folder. 5. Resize the image to the medium size (or you can go back in history to just before you did the resize for Large and then resize for medium). 6. Apply sharpening. 7. Save for Web into the Medium folder. 8. Resize to the small image size 9. Apply sharpening 10. Save for Web into Small folder. 11. Stop action recording. 12. Close the sample image without saving. Now you can run the action in batch.

That's exactly what I did, except for the sharpening as probably a set sharpening for a whole batch of files is dangerous (to say the least

So when you run the batch, do you leave the 'Override Save As' option unchecked?
It seems to me that when I do that, the batch runs, but it saves all the files to the filename of the image I used to record the action.

BTW, when you run the Automate > Batch, the only thing you should set is the source. Don't specify anything for the destination since that's already taken care of within the action itself.
