Default Bewildered

We were at a VERY casual wedding of friends we've known for 18 years (they've been together for 22 years and just tied the knot!) and I was taking a few shots for them to remember their special, yet casual day. We had our 15 months old playing in the park and discovering gulls for the first time. Since he was eating a sandwich the birds obviously saw the opportunity to gather around him, just a mere foot or two away.

I got a number of shots but this is the one that strikes me the most. The gull looks so close...but the kid doesn't flinch.

Whoa. The "air rat" looks huge compared to the little guy. He didn't look scared either! Great timing Lindsey.

Wow, perfect timing Lindsey. Looks like the bird is aiming for that piece of 'flying' bread over your son's left arm and amazingly he's quite indifferent to it all. Great shot.

Thanks guys. I just hung back at shot while my husband and Thomas fed the birds. Looks like they were quite attracted to the little fella.

Nice shot and great timing. I would have liked to have seen the next sequence of photos to see his expression develop. The other photos really add to the series. Great color and depth of field.

Thanks... this was the next shot after the first in the post, 2 seconds later. I think the gull caught the bread and doubled back or perhaps flew off and another gull flew in. Either way, this kid was back in the hunt
