When you choose to Export an image there's the option to size the final output to your liking.

Blue,
I do see under export where you can control the size of the image. But even bumping it there, my web gallery is way to small. Under the "web" section on the top right, in the "custom settings" section, there is a slider but it maxes out at "1024 px". I assume that is 1024 pixels and that is what I think is constrainin the size but I can't get around it.

What size of images do you want to post on your web page? On mine I make my photos 800 pixels on the long side. In the Export screen on Lightroom I just tick "Constrain Size" and enter 800 in the "Maximum height" and "Maxium width" boxes with the next box set for "Pixels".
The next line "Resolution:" "240" and "pixels per inch" don't mean anything for posing on the web. I don't post any photos bigger than 800 pixels on the longest side so that if people want to "borrow" my photos they can't make a descent print of any size. At least that is what I thought. A newspaper recently phoned and asked if they could use photos on my web sited for an article about the ski race. I offered to send them a higher resolution copy, but they said the one on the web was good enough. I was afraid to look at the newspaper, but it looked OK. I guess you can't print at very high resolution on newsprint anyway. |

are you on a huge monitor? cause most aren't and will have to scroll to see the image, not to mention wait for it to download, which is a huge PITA and would turn many away

Thanks all.
I have made all the adjustment you all have recommended. thanks. Here's what I figured out. when in the web tab, there is a grid that goes from 3 x 3 to 5 x 8. I had it on 3 by 3 because on the index page, i had 7 thumbnails. When i expand the grid out to 5 x 8, the pictures in the gallery show at normal sixe at or near 600 x 800. But now with my pics the right size, my index page is huge. I have 7 pix in the series and now 40 spaces for thumbnails. so now i have to figure out how to keep my 3 x 3 spacing on the index page but expand it out on the picture pages so they show at full size. Any ideas? thanks all!
