Default EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS lens with a 2x II Extender
Is anyone using a EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS lens with a 2x II Extender?

How are the results?

Any words of caution?

Is it a good choice for a "poor man's" 600mm (800mm, that is)?

Any photos?

The only lenses the 2xII really works well on are the 200 2.8L, 135L, and the 300 2.8L IS and up.

Sigmonster = Sigma 300-800?

Sorry, I'm really interested in finding out about the 2x since I just rented one from rentglass.com along with a 400mm

Yes, and the new 200-500f2.8 will probably take a 2x very well also, as it comes standard with a 2xTC.

How about using a 1.4x Extender on the 1-4 instead?
