Default F18 Hornet low speed pass

First airshow with the old non IS 600 4L, not an easy lens to use at all! I got tons of blurry pics, a handfull of good ones and then there's this one my favorite out of the bunch.. It's really good looking full size but I had to shrink it down for here, and to get it looking better, made a couple passes of USM via PSE.. That left a bunch of false edges and halo's so I zoomed in a bunch then penciled out the usm halo's "a couple pixels at a time"

Without props to think about, it seems like you could just kick up the shutter speed? f/5.6 should give you all the DOF you need at that distance.

Thanks, I used anything from f4-f7.1 and some of the prop planes I used f9-f14 and slower shutter, but most of the blur is from other things like heat waves from exhaust, or udrafts, to alot of not keeping the focus tracked while manually focusing.
