Default Tamrac Velocity 7X fit that tight?

I'm looking for some type of sling/messenger style bag for a 20D with 17-55 lens attached and maybe 1-2 other medium to small lenses and CF cards, batteries, etc. The Velocity looks like it fits the bill. However, based on the pictures I've seen I don't want something hugging me that tight. For those that have this bag does it really fit that tightly? I want something that hangs a little looser... any recommendations. I was looking at the Crumpler messenger bag with the bucket insert but that's way too expensive...

Thanks
