Default Getting started w/RAW

If I was thinking of getting started w/RAW, but I'm a little nervous to spend up to the G9, could I use CHDK on an SD1000 or an A series to unlock RAW? You can get an SD1000 for like $150 right now.

Check the CHDK wiki site. They have hacks for some of the A series.
