Default Bald Eagle in Flight

I got this shot in Cape Coral, where there is a bald eagle nest with young ones in it. This bird took off and made several loops around while calling, before flying off. My first eagle in flight! It was late afternoon, so took some fill flash to give it detail.

The city won't let you within 150' of the nest, but you can stand beyond that and look. I took shots of the nest but it was pretty dark by that time. Guess he/she didn't like us there!

Great Shot. It feels good to get that first one! I find the open mouth looks more interesting than when they are just flying without any extracurricular activities.

He/she was pretty loud, I can tell you that! Yes it was a real thrill! I totally thought I missed them due to the poor light.

Congratulations Karen. The inflight is nice but having the bird calling is a real catch. Have you tried a touch of selective sharpening on the head?

No, but that's a great idea if I can do it. Any tips?

I just used fill flash on Photoshop Elements, and tried to balance with brightening/contrast.
