Right now I have a 40d and I am looking for a telephoto lens. Noting too expensive, I was thinking about the 70-200mm f/4 IS. My basketball gym has horrible lighting since they since all the lightbulbs to the energy saving ones. I also have a 580exII. Any suggestion on what lens and diffusers to get?

I use the 85 f/1.8 for basketball. The 70-200 f/4 will be too slow for indoor sports -- unless you plan on strobing. (i.e. Remotely firing two or more flashes)
