Default My Take on the 2009 Cartersport Jack Frost Stages Rally

There's already quite a few threads running from this event, so hopefully there's room for one more!

I stayed down around the bottom end of the circuit for this time, mainly to find some shelter from the wind which was at times very, very gusty particularly as the afternoon wore on. However, the light at times was just spectacular, and that in the end is what it is all about.

Enough waffle - onto some pictures: -

#1 Event winners Paul Bird and Ian Windress near the start of Stage 1

#2 The fantatsic Metro 6R4 of Chris Wise, who finished in second spot

#3 Another shot of Chris Wise approaching the Chicane at speed

#3 An absolutely wonderful Ford Puma S1600

#4 The amazing Mk II Escort of John Stone

#6 The other 6R4 that was running, and a very pretty one too!

#7 The Fiesta boys heard Geoff was going to be there, so sent one of their number along to annoy him.....

#8 I'll finish with another shot of John Stone's Mk II Escort giving me a little wave as it flashed by

My usual gear for these i.e. 1D mk II + Sigma 500mm, although there are some on my website (link in signature) taken with a 40D + Sigma 120 - 300mm, which performed very well.

As usual, any comments or feedback is most welcome.

Cheers,

Simon.

Oh look, a comedian !. Fortunately there were Marshals on hand on Sunday so yours truly would have simply stood back and watched if the Fester mob had run into trouble

These are all fantastic Simon but Birdy's Impreza and the last opne of John Stone's Dayglo Mk2 are beautiful.

Thanks Geoff . The light at times on Sunday was just wonderful, and helped a great deal with the colours and lighting up the cockpits of the cars.

Cheers,

Simon.

Thanks Elvis. Like I've already said, the quality of the light was at times superb and that is a huge help in getting the pictures right.

A Happy New Year to you as well Az - I hope you and yours have a good 'un!

Glad you like the pictures. You need to get yourself out into a cold, wet and muddy forest to scratch that itch

Simon.
