go karts at night?

Hello all you motorsport nutz, I am inquiring about shooting Go karts at night and im wondering which lens to bring with me and some setting recommendations. It will be dark so the only light will be the track lights. Thank you kindly fellow race fanatics.

Looking at your equipment, you will need that 50 or 85-1.8, ISO 3200, and zoom with your feet.

Definitely the 70-200mm. Don't bother with the 50mm because the AF is not up to scratch for anything moving. You could bring along the 85mm and change to it if you don't really need the versatility of the zoom/don't want the weight.

Not karts but night racing that could provide an example. Pulled out the 50mm f/1.8 II, set the camera at ISO 1600 and aperture priority, and went to work.

It seems to have worked. But then I decided that I wanted tighter framing, mounted a 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS lens, and set the camera at 1/60 shutter priority.

This setup seems to have worked, too, and the images would have looked better had I not been too lazy to not make exposure and color corrections.
