So I thought that once I chose my body and basic lenses that the hard part was over... Thhheeennnn I start to look for bags. Needless to say, I need assistance.
For right now I have a 30D, 50mm and an 18-55. That's really all I need to fit. I'll probably be getting a new lens soon, BUT as this is mostly for hobby I won't need to fit more than that. I'd prefer a sling-back style bag to something larger/heavier... Thoughts? Edit: I'd prefer not to spend a lot on it either, I'd rather put that money into a new lens or something... Don't want to be cheap, buuuttt that's how I roll. Last edited by JenniferKailey : 24th of March 2009 (Tue) at 15:57. |

The crumpler 6 million dollar home would fit your stuff and have some extra room.
Many people use a Lowepro Slingshot for a sling type bag. I'm not a big fan of them but many people do seem to like them. I think Kata makes a sling bag as well. Personally, I prefer the messenger bags from crumpler or domke. Edit: With the new crumpler's out now, you can get old style ones for fairly cheap at alot of online retailers. You can probably get an old style 5mdh for around 50 dollars new. In fact... Not sure if you like red: http://www.amazon.com/CRUMPLER-MILLI...7928499&sr=8-2 Last edited by Richgsr : 24th of March 2009 (Tue) at 16:02. |

I just bought the Lowepro Classified 160 for myself and love it. The 140 might be a good choice for you, it is low profile and not too big. Personally, as a woman, I would not carry a bag with a strap across my chest like a slingbag.
BTW, yesterday Samy's Camera had a sale on all Lowepro bags. I don't know if you have that store near you or how long the sale lasts, but the prices were great. |

For just that, look at the Domke F-5Xb - about the size of a smallish purse. If you add a little to the gear list check out the Domke F-3x.

Have a look at the bag review list, and the Lowepro Classified series. I have a review up of the 160.

Crumpler 5 MDH in red (new style), light blue or brown (older style - cheaper if you can find it).

isn't this answer a stickie yet?

Check my reviews and while a 5MDH would work for you now, a 6MDH would be better in case you get a tele like the 55-250 and a flash wanting just a bit more rounding out your basic kit.

I think the Crumpler 5MDH should be able to fit your gear. I'm currently using mine with a gripped 5D in the larger area, and an 85 1.8 and 50 1.8 II in the smaller area. I've also used a 40D gripped and a 70-200 2.8 IS before.
