Help needed with printing b&w images.Printer, (canon pixma pro 9000) produces images much darker then they appear on screen. Have tried calibration with no success. Any advice greatfully recieved.

I don't know if this will help but are you using the ICC profiles for the paper you are printing on?

The most common reason for this is that monitors, out of the factory, are set too bright for serious photo editing and this commonly shows up when trying to print.
If you could post a picture that looks good on your screen but prints dark, we could help you evaluate this.
