Default Too much? Challenger

I did shop color enhancements on some of my shots from about a month ago (just figuring out the photoshop thing) they were pretty good shots before, but i brightened the top on up a lot, and used a red photo filter to try to portray some of the passion that goes into cars like the challenger.. thoughts?

Nice car. Nice light. So where's even one shot that makes the whole car look good?
And, this is all wrong:
# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/4000 second
# Lens F-Number / F-Stop ƒ/5
# Exposure Program = aperture priority (3)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 800

You could have shot that at 1/500 sec & ISO 100 to get less noise, especially in a black subject. I wouldn't have used Av, either. Why?

i saw a photo in one of your links where you suggested blurring the background on a car in a parking lot, so i gave it a whirl.

I love a Challenger... but pink headlights just strips the balls right off of it.
Sorry.
Oh, and tell your friend that the directional tire on the right front is on backwards. It should be on the left side of the car. Bet ya anything that one of the back ones is on the wrong side too. That can create a MAJOR instability problem... particularly in braking or wet/snowy conditions.
And before anyone questions... I am a mechanic, I am paid to notice these things.

I like that angle better. It still doesn't look as sharp as I'd like, & you have a tree growing out of it?

Good catch, but how can you tell from that image?

In the third picture, look at the tread pattern on the tires. The V shape is used to channel water from the middle of the tire outwards and away from the tire. So when you are driving forwards, the point of the V should 'touch down' first. Looking at the tire from the front of the vehicle, the V should point downwards. The passenger side tire has the V pointing upwards. (^) Putting that tire on the driver's side will have it facing the right direction. The tires also have arrows on the sidewall that indicate 'direction of rotation'. But you have to know what the arrows mean before they are helpful

Thanks, Melody! I can't see that "V", & wonder if your monitor calibration might be off?

I think it's a good thing to have in your toolbox for car shows where you have no control over the background, but wouldn't overdo it. You got a good selection on the edges of the Vette, & it looks OK here.

thanks, i didn't feel like spending a ton of time cutting it out, but it forced me to use the polygonal lasso tool due to the top, and it gave me an opportunity to touch up a pretty lousy photo (i didn't bother to look at the BG when i shot it)... it's an NSX though, not a vette.

lol yeah.. we're going to try to find a better setting next time.. i did some side shots that were kinda thrown by the cement curb being in the picture, and the trees didn't always work with me.

I don't think monitor calibration is going to make a difference. At least not on my end. The tread shows up in different shades of gray. The V actually does not come to a point, there is a 'band' that runs down the middle of the tire.

These are kinda small I know, but I colored in the V pattern to highlight it.

I am more apt to spot something like this because I see this everyday at work.

Crap! I don't know where that came from. Maybe I was still on my first cup of coffee?
