Cream of the Crop
|
So I pickec up a 20D today for my trip on Monday and since I have a 10D, it feels really simular - so that is goodness. But when I took my first shots - I could not beleive it. It has to be twice as loud as the 10d. Is this normal? I think the shutter is even noisier then my old film camera with transport. Could be I am just imagining it... but if anyone else has upgraded - I would love to know if any of you notice any difference.

The 20D definately has a different sound than the 10D and due to the difference in sound tones and quicker timing, it sounds much louder to me than the 10D. I was worried it would alarm the subjects I like to photograph (animals, birds), but has not seemed to bother them any more than other cameras that I have used. I LOVE my 20D.. Neatest camera I have ever had.
Enjoy !!

After using the 300D tonight, you are right the 20D's shutter is LOUD!!!
I usually like it, except during a wedding, it seems SO loud during the ceremony. I am seriously thinking of using the 300D for most of my ceremony shots. |

It seems to be just as loud with all my lens, EF-S & EF lens.

Yes, the 20D is loud and much louder than the XT, but you get used to it after awhile, then all the other cameras are too quiet.

I've never heard a 20D go, but my new EOS-3 has a very loud sound. Maybe they gave the 20D the EOS-3 parts.
