Hey,
we all heard about the new models S45 an A70 that will come soon (press release on 27. February) ... But my question: Will there be a new model for the G3, perhaps with improved flashlight and some worked over functions ... Greets S. |

Sebastian,
Maybe if Canon would listen up & read this post, we could chime in about our ideas for the G4 or whatever they would designate a successor, or new model. Mine would be a flash PC socket, perhaps longer zoom ratio (and/or a bit wider angle), a focus point reading on the top screen/LCD screen with smoother focusing for manual focusing mode, that all the buttons will not wear out from constant pressing while scrolling through the menus, larger CCD chip... These are nit-picks, except for the manual focus function and buttons. You really don't know what focus point you are at for night shots in manual, 1 or 2 clicks from infinity. The camera would also go up in price. I love this little camera, it is fine for me, and I will hang on to it for life. Kerry |

Alright, Sprockett-
My camera is only one week old, (6 days today) with a little over 100 shots, I hope the camera lasts forever, but if anything goes out I would think that would be the buttons-perhaps the ccd chip. I have been using a manual camera for 24+ years, it still works, and they do need servicing-mine never has but it needs a CLA. I do promise myself (and that credit card I used to get it) to take very good care of this camera. It does cost enough-overpriced some may think, but it is feature rich. If ever I get the printer warmed up, hopefully my prints will speak for themselves, and "overpriced" will not even be a distant thought. Kerry P.S. The touchpad buttons on VCR/TV remotes (mine anyhow) are horrible-don't last, it being hell for me to try to tape a show-you have to push the buttons through to the other side? for them to work. That's where my thoughts on electronic buttons in general stem from...yeah, I hope that toggle lasts...be careful with it, don't use it to drive nails... |
