....one of MANY trips to YOW in the past month. Getting bored of the same old commercial planes, but I love going to the airport. Kind of a crummy cloudy day, but I'm happy with the results (basically all of these are overexposed by one stop). Everything with the 70-200 f/4 IS.

Nice shots but the blown out sky detracts from the photo.

. . . nice captures, but a touch over exposed !
There are not too many good spots to shoot from at YOW without getting the damn chain link fence or trees in your pic. I usually shoot from the threshhold of the approach path to 25 or 32 and from the golf course road by the radar tower where you took these shots, ( ... if you don't mind background clutter). Sometimes you can get some good closeups through the fence as they taxi to the holding bay of 25, as you have done. Ahhhhhhhhh, I can smell the JP4, and feel the heat from those jet blasts !

Any tips for darkish cloudy days where the sun is barely pushing its way through the clouds? I purposely overexposed them based on what I saw on the LCD. Wasn't sure what I would be able to do in PP to fix them.
And yeah, I wish we had more of a background shooting from along the golf course there. You can kind of see the hills coming in a bit, but not too much. Last edited by Kekumba : 12th of May 2010 (Wed) at 11:17. |

Love the 2 "panoramic" aspect shots - sort of a Canadian Airline-Airport frenzy, eh?

Haha wow, I thought #4 and 5 was one picture. Too close for comfort if so. Nice shots.
