Found out about the Fractalius filter through someone on here (THANK YOU SO MUCH OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG) and anyway, old shot, newly processed. TEAR IT TO SHREDS.
Head over to my flickr if this doesn't fit on your screen. ![]() |

There comes a point where the filter/pp algorithm takes over the photo and becomes all the same regardless of who took the picture (think overdone HDR's).
As it stands, it's a demo of Fractalius and nothing more; however, have fun with the effect without getting sick and tired of it and eventually you'll find your own equilibrium. |

I wanted the shot to be really abstract. The few other fractalius shots I've done were toned down a bit, I wanted to experiment more with something really out there. I know what you mean though, in terms of photographical merit there isn't much to examine. I might as well have told you all I painted it :P

This is more of an example of photographic art than a photograph. I'm not familiar with this filter. So my first experience is that it's a cool effect. I think the image holds one's eye. There's success in that. If I see a lot more of this filter, I may change my perception and put it in the same category as selective color, pictures of reflections in puddles, and lens babies.

Can anyone confirm whether Fractalius works with Win7 CS5 64-bit?
I downloaded the demo, but it does not show up on my Filters menu. I read in one forum where someone claims they got Fractalius to work with Win7 CS5 64-bit.

These are the second postings I've seen with this filter. I agree, it is quite amazing. What exactly does this filter do?

looks like an ACME cartoon of the silhouette desert mountain rocks and an ACME bomb exploded in the background.

Very cool. I will get this plug in and then post something to legitimately revive the thread.
In the meantime, has anyone got some cool pics to post? |
