Default My DIY camera dolly and video tests

I made this dolly and its working out pretty well. Its track-less, but for asphalt cement I think I am going to need larger diameter tires and perhaps airfilled tires. Not sure.

not bad. i would switch the wheels out for the large rubber wheels you can get at home depot or lowes that would reduce visible bumps that may be seen through use. may not be an issue though. i suggest it because my internet is not good enough at the moment to watch the video. solid rig though, nice job.

freaking awesome smooth work!
I've been looking at the spidertrax dolly stuff at cheesycam. great custom build of it! I am going to have to make one for myself now!

I would not move to pneumatic wheels keep the gel wheels they are smoother. build a track when you take it outside!

easy as that! great work!

get idea, only I would say to this is that longer would be better, bumps are not as effective the longer the main platform is. I've still got to finish putting together my setup. I have most of the parts sitting in the garage waiting to go together but finding the time is a pain in the but... then again I could be doing it right now but I'm sure the rest of the house would bitch at me for making all kinds of noise at this time of night, lol.

Saw this on TST nice job. I can't wait till I get back up to school and have access to a machine shop to start making some sweet DIY equipment.

Nice, I had a similar (and less professional) solution by using skateboard wheels... works pretty much as smooth as the pro sliders, only problem with wheeled sliders is unless you have a flat and smooth surface it's pretty useless. But for stuff at home it's great!

Here's what I did... http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=906271

That's awesome. See I think us ex-skateboarders secretly have the best tools for the job!
