Default Nooooob Question (What is This?)

I was just messing around yesterday. I took this shot of the sun at 200mm, ISO 100, f/32, 1/8000th. I noticed this odd-looking semicircle to the right of the sun. Any ideas?

If you tilt your camera on purpose to "add interest", you're doing it wrong.

IMHO it's lens flare.

Yup. If you've got a UV filter then remove it (although I'd expect worse lens flare than this with a filter).

It just seemed like an odd shape to be flare. Thanks for your opinions. BTW, no filter was attached.
