Here are some of the photos I have taken recently. Don't be to harsh, I have only just started!
The first two were taken at dog shows (Irish Setter & Sheltie), the third is my own dog, fourth was taken at a lure coursing day and last is another of my dogs. Hope you enjoy them ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nat |

I love the shot of the Irish Setter and the Pharaoh Hound or is it an Ibizian.

Very nice. I think you have a good eye for composition! All of the images have some thing going for them.
In #4 is the dog chasing a mechanical lure?

Yep it is a mechanical lure
open to all breeds and I went along with mine - for a collie, he was damn fast and he's addicted now. Nat |

Nat -- what do you mean you're "just starting" -- I've seen some pretty fantastic shots that you have taken. I do a lot of dog show photography (going to a show tomorrow). It can be very difficult to get the "right" shot because the activity is so dynamic. Exhibitors will may times pause to give you the opportunity for a good shot (I also show, so I'm on both ends of it), but my best advice is shoot tons of pics. There will be diamonds among the rough.
Both the Irish and the Sheltie seem a bit soft. The Sheltie also has some shadow issues. #3 is absolutely gorgeous and very dynamic with the wind in the hair. The Pharoh Hound is a nice action shot. And, #5 is absolutely beautiful. The only thing I'd like on that one is the eyes open a wee bit more. Super shot, Nat.
