Wow, just stunning pictures. This is certainly a gifted and highly talented photographer. I think without any doubt they are bookworthy and if you ask me, important documentaty photographs which should be in a library or museum.

thanks for posting. Please say thank you from me to your neighbor for doing what he and the rest of the greatest generation did, they will never be forgotten. We see them as they are today and forget they were once young men too...these pics help remind us of that.

yes. This is a treasure. My neighbor isn't very computer Savvy so he hasn't really seen these photos.

I'm gonna put something together for him.. He will really appreciate.

Outstanding series the photog was/is very gifted.
Thanks very much for sharing these memories.
Growing up my neighbour was a WWII vet and some of the stories and stuff he shared...
amazes me even now to think of the things these brave souls went through.

don`t wait...we`re losing them, won`t be long before they`ll all be gone. My late father was in the RCAF in the European theater, he met my mom in England...she passed this year he died a few years ago now. May be why pics like this hit me as hard as they do, I was in Japan when both passed and couldn`t get home and never took the time to say thanks to my dad. I do get to hear my father in law`s stories from this side of the war, he was a young boy at the time and didn`t join the military though my understanding is, everyone was trained to do their part when the allies landed...but we all know that didn`t happen.
