8.9-magnitude quake hit northeast Japan

My thoughts are with all. Terrible news.

Will this affect Canon production?

hawaii coastal cities being evacuated. strongest energy of wave concentrated directly toward hawaii (from west coast and alaska tsunami warning center, cindi preller). expecting waves possibly 5meters

Hope all our Japanese members are ok.

Were just waiting on the tsunami now, although it will be small if it gets this far.

Anyone closer, in the pacific needs to get away from the coast.

First wave to hit Hawaii around 3:00 am Hawaii time.... 5:00 am Pacific Coast time - 3/11. Sirens already have gone off. Evacuation of coastal areas have started. If a tsunami wave appears, it will hit Kauai first, then Oahu, Maui, then the Big Island. We are waiting update from Wake Island which is between Japan and Hawaii.

Really?

People are dying man, whether stuff gets made is irrelevant. :(

Cheers, Dave.
