G12 and 270 ex ii

Anybody has this combo? Can you guys please comment on the bouncing capability (normal inside house shots, maybe 10-12ft high ceiling) and fill flash capability using this? Reason im asking is because im selling off all my gear but do not want to be without a camera. I still have a 580 that i havent sold yet thinking that i might just keep that and pair with the g12, but im trying to cut down the size, im imagining that the 580 is somewhat double the size of the g12 maybe bigger, so if the 270 is just as capable then im just get that and let the 580 go.
