Yep, you're right. Not sure why I read the above post as 8x10. So as long as the client doesn't demand 8x10 there shouldn't be anything to worry about. ;)

Thank you guys.....I think I got it now, I've been playing cs4 and found it out in image tab and under that go image size, I was going to print one but I just found I am out of ink. but anyway I took a picture in photoshop where I think I will resize the image based on costco preference please tell me if I am right...sorry for taking this topic here... Is this right? resize it here then store in to sd card then bring it to costco for printing right? sorry for being repetitive I just want to make sure I am doing it right.

Thanks guys! just catching up on my 365/366 project (366 as next year is leap year) but yeah. My rules for the 365 project is that they dont have to be uploaded each day, but a new photo must be taken each day, if that makes any sense in the way I worded it. I made my rules that way because Im currently in Korea and I dont have internet at a couple of the places I am staying (grandparents, aunt, etc.)

but just for fun, heres a today's photo.

I hear you are looking to shoot star trails? Well, you are in luck because it doesn't take any real fancy equipment. For the tripod you really just need anything that will securely hold your camera still. When I first started with my night photography I just used a rickety old $5 garage sale tripod. It did the job. Now, that being said it in no way compares to my manfrotto in terms of features and stability, but it served me well. Check out the Flickr link in my signature and head over to my astronomy set and you'll see a number of star trail shots, all shot with my cheap little tripod.

The only other thing you'll need for star trails is the free software at: http://www.startrails.de/html/software.htmlexternal link and a remote shutter cable that will lock the shutter down (maybe $5-$10)

Then all you need to do is take a bunch of exposures over time as the stars move and let the software do the work. A good starting point is 30 seconds at ISO 200 and f/4. Your particular night sky and number of stars you want in the shot will dictate exactly what settings to use, but I find those settings are a good starting point.

Hey thanks alot bro.
Gonna get me a cheap tripod....ordered a EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS and getting a cheap tripod....and will let you know

This is a good idea.....I actually thought about this too but did not bother to mention it. I am glad you did photograma. It sounds challenging.

Having a weekly theme won't help you stay caught up Dian. There are too many of us (myself included) who just shoot what we want to shoot. So for instance; your theme of the week is "street people" (just an example), I would not be taking part, and I'm sure there are others who wouldn't either. So, we'd still be posting what we want, and when we want. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't have a weekly challenge if you want one. What you post is entirely up to you, and I'm sure many people would like to take part.

More important I think to try and keep the posts more manageable would be if people would remember the POTN rules about repeating photos when commenting. Yes, there would probably still be as many posts and pages, but certainly easier to scroll through if the photos weren't being repeated 3, 4, 10 times.

There would also be a lot less to scroll through if people would quote and reply to several others in one post (like I'm doing here). I'm not as good at it as Rafa was, but Rafa had a lot more patience than I do I suspect.

To quote more than one post in a reply (for those who don't know), just click on that little quote icon in each post you want to reply to(it's at the bottom right), and then, when you've done that with all of them (including the last one), you then click where it says "quote" and all of them should show up in your reply. You then type whatever you want to say about each, right under the one you're commenting on, and continue until you've made all your comments, and voila!! One post instead of 10 (or however many).

I'd like to say something here, but please don't anyone take offense. It's not meant to offend anyone, but the tenor of this forum has changed since I joined (about six months ago)(see T2i/550D users UNITE! (1) to see what I mean. There are not many, but some people here want to change things from what's made this forum the great place it's always been. I'm even seeing some snide, attack like posts that are totally uncalled for and have no place here (I won't go into who or what however, because that just feeds their self serving egos) In addition, I'm seeing many people post photos and expect comments, yet not ever comment on other people's work. I don't know about anyone else here, but I am now making it a practice to not comment on their photos, even if I think I have something worth saying. Wanting recognition is not a one way street. If you want to "get," you need to "give."

I suspect that because it's been so impossible to keep up with; many of the old timers have left. And frankly, I really miss them, and the knowledge they so freely shared. I learned so much from them, and I wish they would still post, but I can see why they don't.

Okay.. off my soapbox now.

:) Anne

This 1,000 times!!! Please, remove the image tags when replying to a comment especially if you are just writing something like "nice shot." I'm sure there are specific comments where the image is needed, but for most they are not.

In addition, I'm seeing many people post photos and expect comments, yet not ever comment on other people's work. I don't know about anyone else here, but I am now making it a practice to not comment on their photos, even if I think I have something worth saying. Wanting recognition is not a one way street. Not trying to be mean, but exactly how do you know someone "expects comment?" I think there are many reasons why people don't always post comments on other peoples pics, with the majority of the reasons being things that are not malicious in any manner such as time management (especially how fast this thread moves). To track who posts comments and decide to not post anything when user X posts is childish and pretty much adds to the negativity you just complained about.

Let's not forget we all share a common love, that is photography. We need to check all other views at the door (hence why there are PotN rules about never posting about religion or politics) and just share what we love, photography. Personal I don't care if anyone comments, I just want to share and look at what others shoot as well.

On a side note, what happened to Rafa? I have a hard time following this thread when most posts come from a time when I sleep (12 hours time difference from US here).
