Still waiting on some real world captures using a 2x extender and info in regards to how responsive the AF reacts on at least stationary and slower moving subject matter at 600mm ?

I shot some this morning using the 400/f5.6 prime with the Kenko 2x MC4 DGX at 800mm/f11.0 so if i can see some pics with the Sigma at 600mm and considerably better then these few below, along with statements that the AF is fairly decent with a 2x, then im just about ready to sell the 400 prime and get this Sigma.

EXIF Intact:

It's funny that the picture says June price is the 120-300, but the terms and conditions say differently:
The Prizes are as follows:

• April 18 – May (4/18/11-5/31/11): SD1 camera (Approximate retail value: TBD)
• June (5/31/11-6/30/11): 150mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM APO Macro (ARV: $1,600)
• July (6/30/11-7/29/11): 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 OS DG HSM (ARV: $1,400)
• August (7/29/11-8/31/11): 120-300mm F2.8 APO EX DG OS (ARV: $4,700)
• September (8/31/11-9/30/11): 150-500mm F5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM (ARV: $1,470)
• October (9/30/11-10/31/11): 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM (ARV: $2,470)
• November (10/31/11-11/30/11): 8-16mm 4.5-5.6 DC HSM (ARV: $1,100)
• December (11/30/11-12/31/11): 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM (ARV: $1,450)

But either way, if I win I wouldn't complain!

However, they require a DOB, which I am unwilling to give. Can I use a bogus one?

Howard

The Sigma might be a good macro too.
Up to 200mm it has a 1.5 meter closest focus range. With cropping makros are possible, using closeup rings would be better (not tested yet).

Butterfly, cropped image, raised shadows, USM (100/1/0):

There's still no UK stock as of yet. Does anyone have any UK availability information?

They sell imports so Sigma UK will not honour the 3 year extended warranty for DG lenses. I would wait for UK stock.

In Italy things aren't much better. I put a €500 downpayment for one in mid May, with a well connected "official" Sigma store and if I'm "lucky" I'll get it first week in July :(
