Default Macro Ring LED?

Can you guys give me some insight on whether these are "good", or "worth it" for photography the little munchkin's?

I was looking at something like this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Macro-Close-Up-O...item3369780490

Any thoughts? I am very "amatuer" not looking to go pro, but if helps take better photo's I am game.... For $40 can I go wrong? (Probably !)

Thanks!
