Default Surfing in Pensacola

I shot these on Sunday in Pensacola, FL at the pier. I used the tips that hooookup and marcusg6 suggested in another post. While they suggested 1250 at f/5.6, I was having to shoot at 4000/5.6 and 2000/5.6 due to the mid day sun. This was to keep from over exposing the shots.

My workflow on these shots was convert RAW to jpg, unsharp mask, resize to 800. Some have been resized to 800 after a 100% crop. All work done in PSCS2. If anyone is interested in giving me a few pointers for post processing here are the orriginal RAW files for the picture below:

I DL the raw and opened the image twice - once adjusting the water scene to taste and again adjusting the surfer to taste. placed the surfer adjusted above the water adjusted and masked out the water from the surfer adjusted scene. flattened and saved for web.

Honestly, I like your original edit better. The second edit looks a little fake. The surfer is nice and bright while the wave is dark. Your original edit looks great considering the uneven lighting. There's nothing you can do to fix that and if you did, it would look unnatural.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for? I can send over the psd files so you can see what I did.
