Did you (were you allowed?) use any fill flash on them?

I'd like to know how in #2 you are able to keep some focus on one skater, and the rest are blurry? Neat effects here. Mike

Nice shots, my guess would eb slow shutter speed panning.

Were these taken at the Olympic Oval in Calgary cause I see you are from Calgary.

thanks for all the comments . no flash allowed , i used a slow shutter speed and a narrow DOF . yes it is the olympic oval in calgary .
