I've started a Filckr group
http://www.flickr.com/groups/potn52weeks/ (external link)
so we can keep a collection of photos together from this thread as Matt suggested it's a " public/private " group anyone can see what's in it but only those invited, ie those taking part can post, I've sent invites to all those who's Flickr I know that have posted here it's only Adrian and Dennis that I have not invited I think but if I've left anyone out please let me know. Chris feel free to insert the group address in the appropiate place on the first page of the main SE thread.

Will do. Although...

Nice one mate! :D

I was going to do it this evening, but got distracted looking for wool throws to use on newborn photos.. Next £40 each, Littlewoods £39 delivered for two exactly the same in brown and cream! :D

When adding an image to the group can the file name be changed to read as follows:

week number
subject title

Like mine: Week 1, No Subject
Then as the weeks progress we will know which week the shot was taken and what the subject was. :)

Good Idea Matt.
If anyone else would like to be an admin etc to the group let me know as I don't always get time to keep on top of things.

Good spot! Well we do build bridges so to speak ;)

As Dom started the group I wonder if the name can be amended as needed to say PoTN ???

Good Idea Matt.
If anyone else would like to be an admin etc to the group let me know as I don't always get time to keep on top of things.

I used to be a member of a flickr group that did this on an on-going basis (set topics etc and had you post shots to it) and the winner was the photo with the most votes (think you could only vote for 3) but will take a look and see if I can find it, so that we can "borrow" some of their rules potentially ...

Happy to help admin if I can ... I'll be very part time though ... but happy to help

How about a set of rules along these lines ...

1. Limit: 1 photo per week. The photo must apply to that week's topic.

2. The new week begins on Sunday .. and runs to midnight on Saturday. The photo must have been taken during the topic week and be your own work.

3. Topics will be posted weekly on Saturday evening / Sunday to begin Sunday. They run through to the following Saturday at midnight. The members will take it in turns to set the topic.

4. Weekly favorites will be picked by votes of the members. Vote on your 3 favorite photos from that week.

Clare I'll add you as an admin when I get home two part time admins should add up to one full time :)
The voting thing sounds like a good idea as it would help people like myself see if we were improving I don't know what anyone else thinks?

Clare job done, I also think that as this was Adrian's idea he should choose the first subject for next week if that's ok with everybody else.
