Default Annular Eclipse Coming May 20th !!

Mark your calendars , if your in the pathway . A great photo opportunity for North America . Don't get this mixed up with a Total Solar Eclipse . An annular eclipse the moon is farther away in it's orbit and this means it will go inside and leave a Ring of Fire to be photographed ! For me to see this i would have to go up to Lubbock Texas or Albuquerque NM . I might just take a vacation then and go to Albuquerque NM ! However watch the movie in the link . It does say a #14 welders glass can safely be used to watch it , otherwise you need a Solar filter for your scope or make some for your binocs with Baadar Film . Or if your lucky enough to own a solar scope your in luck ! Good luck everyone and hope you don't forget and miss this chance of a lifetime !!

I'll be in Hawaii then, wonder if I can see it from there. Doesn't look likely from the NASA link. Darn.

Yep. I read about this and found out that it will coincide with an airshow I plan to shoot. That will make for an interesting afternoon. Hopefully the annular eclipse won't darken the skies so much that shooting jets become a challenge. But if it does.. well.. I'll just shoot the moon.

If you followed the link i provided and read the story you would know it will not turn dark . This will be an Annular Solar Eclipse , not a Total Solar Eclipse . Annular is called a Ring of Fire cause the moon doe not cover the sun fully and for that reason you will need a solar scope or filter or a #14 welders glass or project it onto some back ground for viewing .
