Unfortunately the Dolica clamp doesn't go down that far. With the clamp all the way in it still slide's in and out.

I'm using this tripod: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...87152*&topnav=

Yes even with the clamp tightened down all the way the capture clip plate slides right through. Kind of a bummer but the clamp can always be switched out to one that will work.

Works on my RedGed Arca Swiss style ball head, no problems.

Yes there's a bolt holding it to the ball. Just use the proper sized allen wrench to remove it. It may have loctite or a variant on the threads though.

In honesty I wouldn't know. Maybe an RRS. Really you would just have to match measurements.

Regarding the belt issue that was posted, seems like a heavy duty belt would be better. Like one that you would wear while carrying a firearm. Look into wilderness belts, not affiliated with them just wear their belts.

Yeah; a guy at work just told me about Kydex belts, where they reinforce the belt with a strip of the material. Planning to check those out.

I still really want one of these, but I am trying to wait until they go on sale sometime. $80 just seems to high, I wish I would have found out about it while it was still on kickstarter.

brooke, same here. i sold both of my BR strap to fund this, but i'm very attached to my handstrap and like the cinch too.. so hard to decide.

i told one of my customer about it and sold him on the idea. he got it. after that he couldn't stop talking about it. i should be capture's rep..

for me.. besides the cost, another factor that's putting me on hold is my new bag KATA 25PL has a sling feature, so most of the time, i'd be using it more often. so that's why i've been debating if i need this at all or not. likewise with the cinch strap too... sigh~

True that. I have the best reason to have it. I use my camera and one lens often all over the ship. 70-200 useless and sometimes I'll carry Nifty around to play with the DOF but this works great for me on the ship. Truly a worthy investment. While I can say I would have spent $80 if I knew of it's awesomeness, glad I got it for $50.
