My fastest cards are 133x I think I've never found them limiting. Unless you are an avid machine gun shooter or desperately impatient about downloading shots, I can't honestly see the need to spend the extra on fast cards.

I think if you want to make the most of the speed the 7D has to offer, you should consider a fast card. My main card for the 7D is a Sandisk Extreme 16GB 60MBps.

lovely shots with the new camera Cogs, really impressive. Taken at Farlington? I have tried to get a good shot of the kestrel but it always flies off before I can get it any where near filling the frame. Even failed to get a good goose shot, the light was a bit low I suppose.

Apparently there have been good sightings of bittenrs at Blashford Lakes. Anyone been over there?

Regards Becky

Becky,

I visit Blashford, but not often.

The talking point last time we were there (couple of weeks ago) was of a Water Rail. But living in Salisbury I am very aware that there are Bitternes on Salisbury Plain and thats not too far away.

I would love to get some decent shots of either a Bittern or a water Rail

Apparently there's four bitterns, some barnacle geese and even some smew around Blashford Lakes at the moment, so it sounds like a good time to visit. This is according to the lecturer in charge of the schools natural history society who keeps on running trips I can't go on because I'm rowing :( They're going on Thursday, so I'd stay away for that day unless you want to be surrounded by smelly Wykehamists! :D

Thanks all
What CF cards do people use
Are the fast cards worth the extra
Colin

I use these:

Quick enough to keep up with a 7D and I've had no issues with them.

This little chap turns up in the hedge right next to my van every tea break looking for a crumb or two
today I thought I would get a shot of him so I put his bread on the door window ledge to put down when I had got my shot
I got this and a few more shots then he got inpatient and flew over and took the bread himself about 6inches from me

Nice shot, shows what a little bribery can do :D

Asked the missus what she wanted for her birthday yesterday, went and ordered a couple of new Sofas, so looks like my carbon tripod is on hold at the moment :(

Fatal mistake, always better to ask for forgiveness than permission. ;)

Lester,

My wife would be coming at me with a carving knife if I tried that. I find honesty the only tactic that works in our house.

Me too to be honest, just trying for some comic effect.

Fantastic set of shots, how did you get so close to get a shot like #2 the ones I've managed have been miles away.
