Thank you. It's a great car. I was lucky enough to get it as a graduation present because my parents didn't want me driving around in my extremely beat up accord anymore. It's a really fun car to drive and surprisingly fast and inconspicuous.

Can you show me some of your best shots with the C/Y Zeiss Planar T* 50mm 1.4? Reason why i'm asking is because i have one coming in on friday and i use a 5DII as well. Got it to replace a sigma 50 1.4 i had that i disliked alot due to weight.

God that is such a hard question... Check out my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinjohnsrud/ (external link). I have the shots I took with the 50mm labeled so you will know. There is also a flickr group for this lens which has some great work in it. I have the AEJ version with the ninja star aperture blades. It is wicked sharp at f/2.

Here are probably my 3 favorite photos from that lens.

Haha, I just finished checking out your flickr. Amazing shots with the 135 and the 50! Now I see what kind of quality it produces. Looks lovely! I'm even more excited now. I really hope my copy is sharp.. I bought mine from KEH.com in EX condition.

Yep, that about sums it up for me too. AWD, turbo, with room for 4, gotta love it. Plus it's not a cop magnet.

EDIT: BTW checked out your flikr, some really good stuff you got there.

Ha yeah especially if you can find a LGT wagon. I tried to find one but they are few and far between with a 5spd. Funny story about not being a cop magnet. I was drive down the interstate going about 80mph the same as the red 2010 Camero which was 6-7 car lengths ahead of me when all of a sudden I see red and blue lights turn right as I pass. Cop tails me for a little bit then goes right by and pulls over the Camero.

Now lets get this thread back on topic.

Not so funny story, driving brother's integra (all stock), going about 75 on open desert highway in a 55 zone. A beamer that I had passed up a few miles back is barreling down the long straight at probably 100+ because I could see him catching up to me fast. See cop driving toward us from opposite side of valley and slow to 65. Cop pulls 180 and tails beamer, see the lights come on. Cop passes beamer and pulls me over! They don't appreciate imports in CA's central valley or major metropolitan areas.

Back on topic:

Figured out why my Nikon to EF mount wasn't working on my 1DS but unable to fix the problem until the adapter gets chipped. Took first shots using Nikon Series E 50mm 1.8 with my 20D:

Couple boring test shots with using adapters on an old nikkor-s 50mm f1.4 and olympus om 28mm f2.8 all shot wide open.
Boy do i love manual lenses <3.

Nikkor-S 50mm f1.4 (looks alot more pleasing to me wide open compared to the Sigma 50mm 1.4 that i recently got rid of. also it's tiny and compact!)

Olympus OM Zuikos 28mm f2.8 (this thing is tiny and love how it compliments my rokinon 35mm)

Do you only shoot MF lenses on your 5D2?

Yup. A fraction of the price of then their autofocus equivalents with near to equal image quality. Not to mention shooting video the damped focus ring is real nice. I started shooting with an AE-1 and never got over using a fully manual camera.

I completely agree. I love my AE-1. It's my baby.

I've got the 5D, and I'd only use MF lenses as well, but unfortunately autofocus has become necessary. I've got a degenerative eye condition, and manual focus just isn't working too great for me anymore. It's sad, but maybe when we're all robots in 50 years, they'll have found a way to correct it. :)

I apologize right from the start, but I am currently on page 50 of this amazing thread and the answer for my question might be on the next 200 or so pages but I am impatient...

For some reason the MF bug bit me with the idea to get a 135mm. If you had to decide, which one would you prefer?

1. Soligor 135mm f/2.8
2. Mamiya-Sekor SX 135mm f/2.8
3. Olympus OM Zuiko MC Auto-T 135mm f/2.8
4. Carl Zeiss Jena 135mm f/3.5
5. Spiratone 135mm f/2.8
6. Contax Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 135mm f/2.8

Or something entirely different?

Thanks a lot.

Cheers.
