Really? Searched a bit through and couldn't find anything really bad about HB just yet, will trudge through again.

I have an HB couple of months ago with flip locks and after probably 10 uses, one of the carbon tubes are sliding and no way the locks can be adjusted tightly. Probably why most of the HB on ebay are twist locks now. Never will buy HB no more due to my experience.

That's the one I'm planning on getting, the C3540V with the pretty large head.

Thanks for the info shoxpro.

Really torn between getting Feisol legs only for around $300 or the whole package for $350. Damn!

There were owners that complained about faulty legs.

I don't have direct links, but I read multiple things about HB that said they were not as good as expected.

I bought my Benro from DC Stuffs and it is great. I would add, however, that the extra arca plate they included is crap. It caused quite a bit of flex on bot my 60d and 5d2. I'll use it for point and shoots maybe. The benro base plate is better, but you are best off getting a plate designed for use with your camera body.

Thanks, but that poster has yet to claim why the HB is bad, I honestly still can't find anything that suggest they are any worse than the MeFoto or other off brand.

Either way, I've decided to go with the Benro CF tripod instead, just to be on the safer side of Murphy's Law, might get a secondary HB later for rough outdoor use.

Like I said. I read multiple negatives about HB, while never found much against Benro. Price is roughly the same, so why risk it?

Very true. But the spec is slightly better on the HB for the same price. Either way, like I said, I'll be getting the Benro version of this MeFoto tripod, albeit with 4 sections. Hoping for the best!

Hi!

I am looking forward to order a MeFoto tripod, but I really can't decide between the C1350Q1 and the C2350Q2 (see http://english.mefoto.cn ...id/196/sid/105/pid/94/l/1external link).

The main difference is the maximal load they can take, but that's just because of the different ball head?

Other differences are the folded and maximal height, which I don't know how important this is at all.

Last but not least the difference in weight, the bigger one is 280g more.

My equipment is: 60D, and my heaviest lens until now is the 200mm 2.8L II (810g) followed by my 24mm 1.4L II (680g).

Anyway, one more question goes to Armitage: Why didn't you go for the lighter model? I mean the differences aren't that big, except as mentioned above, the maximum load weight, which seems the most important difference to me (beside the weight, but are 280g a considerably difference at all?).

The ballhead and the leg diameters. If you can, get the Benro verion though. I feel they have a better built base than the MeFoto.

But with your equipment list even the C1350 would cope really well. Should be lighter for regular carrying as well.

How do you feel that? Please explain!
And why is the leg diameter important? Thanks.

People want to know the leg diameters so they can make a subjective judgment on the "beefiness" of the legs. Often larger diameter legs = higher max load performance in many users' minds.

Or less "flex".

350$ Total. Great price for both the tripod and head. The quality of this tripod is, once again, astounding for the price. I don't have anything to compare it too, but I couldn't see it getting much better than this.

Is this the same one?
