Sold my last EF lens yesterday and received this one in the mail today. Took a few snaps of my friend's car in his yard to try it out and gosh, this Zeiss is a blast.

just went through every page of this thread - looks awesome. I'm picking up a zeiss 50 1.4 tomorrow (and selling the 24-70) - wish me luck!

is there much variation in these lenses (sharp copies/not so sharp copies)?

Just picked one up the other day - this thing creates ridiculous bokeh! I love it.

I use it with the precision focusing screen but does anyone have any tips for focusing on moving subjects?

Was hanging out with friends at the beach bar/lounge today. They just finished shooting a music video so everyone was in a photogenic mood. =p

Pretty obvious from the last one that I'm missing focal points and still suffering a bit of 1.4 syndrome where I can't resist using it wide open even when the situation would dictate it's inappropriate. lol Small steps, small steps; one at a time. :p

Yes, I did. It is a very safe country with extremely friendly people. Travelling without much hassle is possible there. Highly recommended. Sent you a p.m.!
