Default New 7d or used 5d MKii for my birding

All,

I have ordered a new 7d from Amazon and know I can return it. I have had an offer to buy a used 5d MKii from a friend who is upgrading to MKiii and wonder if it will be worth it to go with the used FF camera? My usage would be on weekends for capturing birds on my field trips and will likely have the Canon 100-400L permamently attached to them. I like the idea of a brand new body but want to understand better if the used MKii makes the best buying decision. The overall price is essentially the same.

Please let me know your thoughts - before I open the package from Amazon!

-Barry
