Not sure if I like these.

I went back to a photo shoot with my niece from a few months back and played with this new PP technqiue. It's fun to play around with it and get opinions on the results. I'm partial towards the black and white version but again...your thoughts are much appreciated.

Here's the "orignal" that she liked after we were done. It's not SOOC, but it'll give you some comparison.

I like the original best, although there is some funky light on her left cheek that keeps grabbing my attention.

I like the Original as well, the bright light on her hair in the first 2 is drawing away the eye from her face. Also the hands looks awkward with the cropped pic (it isn't too bad), is there an uncropped one or one showing her fully?

Lighting, composition, and exposure...take care of these and there won't be a need for garish and funky-looking processing. She's a pretty girl...why do that to her?

I would darken the brick to have subject stand out more. Brick left of her seems tad over exposed to me. It would been nice to see her hand. Overall I like the effect and the picture.

I don't mind "new" technique #1. The warm brown tones work with the image. You've already got a vignette, but I'd also burn the bricks camera left of her face.

The biggest problem here is the composition of the image. Her arms are leading lines taking you right out of the photo.

I prefer the unprocessed original, though I would have liked to see it framed with the corner of the wall at the LHS one third line and her hands in the frame.
