Hey everyone,

I'm brand new to this forum - this is actually my first post. I've already learned so much! Is there any information on resizing images for web using Photoshop 9? I'd love some feedback on my work from you veterans however I'm stuck on how to do this properly. Rookie question I know.

Hi Maigan & welcome to POTN!

What version Photoshop are you referring to? Photoshop Elements 9 or PS9 (which is PSCS2: What this thread is about)

I've only got Photoshop Elements 9. Thanks for clarifying Rene.

Elements has a File/Save for Web function as well as an Image/Resize function. Check them out -- I don't use Elements and can't give you detailed help, but if you have questions let us know!

If uploaded to Flickr, would you have to do this before uploading?

If you have a paid "professional" account, you can upload larger images. They resize for "normal" viewing but larger sizes can be viewed.

For free accounts, you can't store a larger size, I believe, so ones you upload will be resized to smaller viewing sizes. In that case you would do better to resize yourself to avoid unwanted "hits" on image quality from their automatic resizing.

Are you saying you don't know how to use Aperture's resizing, or are you asking about something more specific?

Quick links from a Google search for "aperture photo resizing":

According to the rules thread here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...ad.php?t=51022
it looks like the limits for image size are not 800x800, but 1024x1024.

Am I missing something?

No. The sizes were increased, & not everything has been updated. This is why it's a good idea to review the rules from time to time, as they take precedence over general posts in the forum.

And, welcome to POTN!
